IUML gives house to Hapur lynch victim's family
Extending much relief, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has handed over a house to the family of Hapur lynching victim Qasim Qureshi. The house was built by the party through its Baithu Rahma scheme after steps were initiated by the Muslim Youth League (MYL) national committee.
“A delegation visited Qasim’s family soon after the incident and his family was found to be homeless. And we decided to help the family and the initial steps were taken by MYL Uttar Pradesh committee,” MYL national executive committee member Shibu Meeran told The Site.
The land was contributed at Pilkhuwa by local resident Saheer Ansari while the house was set up under the supervision of the U P state committee after the fund was raised by MYL national committee.
39 year old Qasim was beaten to death while another man, 65-year-old Samiuddin was seriously injured after a mob attacked the duo alleging cow slaughter Bajhera Khurd village in Hapur in June, 2018. Later, Qasim’s family alleged the attack was unleashed by BJP goons.
Shibu added that the party extended help to the families of lynch victims Junaid Khan and Aliuddin Ansari. 17-year-old Junaid Khan was stabbed to death while he was returning home to Khandawli village in Ballabgarh, Uttar Pradesh with his brothers after shopping for Eid in Delhi. Alimuddin Ansari, 55, was attacked by gau raksha samiti activists while he was transporting meat in his van from Chitarpur area of Ramgarh in Jharkhand.
Shibu said that the party is trying to address the woes of the lynch victims. “The party has set it as one of the top priorities,” he said.
