Former National Vice President of JIH, Prof Siddique Hassan passes away at 76
Former Vice President of Jamaát-e-Islami, chairman of Madhyamam and founder secretary of Ideal Publication Trust, Professor K A Siddique Hassan passed away at 76 on Tuesday.
He was suffering from old-age ailments and was leading a retired life in his son's residence in Kozhikode. Final prayers will be held at Velliparambu Jummah mosque on Wednesday
Being an Islamic scholar, speaker and social activist he was regarded highly not only within his organization but also in the wider social and political circles.
In his lifetime he pioneered various socio-educational empowerment initiatives across India which had resulted in the upliftment of education and economical conditions of the minorities. He launched 'Vision 2016', an ambitious movement under Human Welfare Foundation which strengthened and created various institutions like schools, houses, public wells, mosques and medical care facilities across India.
