While the NTA declared NEET examination results on Friday, Shoyeb Aftab, made history with a perfect score in the 2020 medical entrance test. Shoyeb, the 18 year old student from Rourkela, secured All India Rank first rank by securing 720 out of 720 in the entrance examination.

Shoyeb told the media that his journey to success was never easy. After his father, who was a tea merchant, suffered financial losses, Shoyeb’s family relocated from Rourkela to Kota in Rajasthan where he pursued his studies at Allen Career Institute. He is, reportedly, the first student from Odisha to top the NEET examination.

“My father’s construction business worked and I was able to take admission in Allen in Kota. My mother moved from Odisha to Kota with me along with my younger sister to support my dream and ensure that I was able to concentrate on my studies,” he told Timesnownews.com. Shoyeb said that he is looking to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi.
