Abandoned by family, Muslim brothers cremate Hindu man

Two Muslim brothers who run an ambulance performed the last rites of a Hindu man who died of COVID-19 in Katepally village of Telangana.

Moghulaiah had died in the hospital he was admitted. However, his family had refused to take over the body, fearing chances of covid spread.

The two brothers, Shafi and Ali came forward to carry Moghulaiah's body in their ambulance to the nearest Hindu crematorium in Bhansuvad to perform his last rites as per Hindu rituals.

With the surge in covid cases and patients waiting for the availability of beds outside hospitals, a mosque in Vadodara received media attention for having arranged a 50-bed covid facility in it.

However, BJP leaders in Vadodara including it's president Dr Vijay Shah has come against Muslims performing last rites of Hindus. On April 16, Vijay Shah objected to the presence of a Muslim man, at the cremation of a BJP leader. He even went on to register a complaint on the same in the Vadodara Municipal corporation.
